Now that the use of fossil fuels is becoming more expensive and reaching the end of its availability, there is a greater need and urgency to develop new sources of energy. These technologies are advancing a greater pace today. Many of them have been around for over 100 years and are not being reinvented for our world now
The maturing of solar and wind power has made it to the forefront.These sources are not reaching down to the individual energy users. They are still somewhat expensive and require a lot of space to be productive energy sources. For those in the urban and suburban areas, a wind generator would not work due to the size of the blades and solar panels still require battery storage and backup sources, adding to the increased space challenge.
There are several projects that can be created by the end users today. One is a hydrogen generator for automobiles, that will increase mileage and improve engine performance. It will burn cleaner and reduce the emissions from any engine. Plans and installations instructions can be found here . A word of caution here that you will need to follow the directions completely. Many manufactures will not honor their warranties if you make this kind of change to their engines.
Another source is bio fuel that can be produced in the home setting. This method is not as practical for the individual, however it is becoming easier to make in the home environment. More about this is available here.
A third source is electromagnetic engines. These are still in the future due to size and weight constrictions. These will be the ultimate non-polluters and truly fully renewable. More information is found here.
